2022 GMC Sierra 1500 Grille Deflector Recall

Affected Vehicles:
- 2022 GMC Sierra 1500 trucks equipped with chrome front grille deflectors
- Approximately 70,800 vehicles affected
Issue:
The attachment points on the chrome front grille deflectors may fracture, causing the deflector to detach from the vehicle. A detached grille deflector could become a road hazard, increasing the risk of a crash.
Remedy:
GM is currently developing a solution for this issue. Once available, the repair will be performed free of charge at authorized GMC dealerships.

- Watch for official notification from GM (notification letters began March 24, 2025)
- Monitor your grille deflector for any signs of loosening or damage
2025 GMC Savana Door Impact Beam Recall

Affected Vehicles:
- 2025 GMC Savana vans with improperly welded driver’s side door impact beams
Issue:
The impact beam located in the driver’s side door may have improper welds. An improperly welded door impact beam may not adequately protect occupants in a crash, increasing the risk of injury.
Remedy:
Dealers will replace the driver’s side door free of charge.
What to Do:
- Owner notification letters were mailed March 3, 2025

- Schedule service at your earliest convenience
2021-2024 GMC Engine Component Recall

Affected Vehicles:
- 2021-2024 GMC Sierra 1500 pickups with 6.2L V8 engine
- 2021-2024 GMC Yukon and Yukon XL SUVs with 6.2L V8 engine
- Nearly 600,000 vehicles affected across GMC, Chevrolet, and Cadillac brands
Issue:
Connecting rod and crankshaft engine components may have manufacturing defects that could lead to engine damage or failure. Prior to engine failure, drivers may notice:
- Knocking, banging or other unusual sounds
- Illuminated check-engine light
- Performance issues (reduced propulsion, unusual shifting, high revs)
- Hesitation to start or no starting at all
Remedy:
Dealers will:
- Inspect the engine and repair or replace it as necessary
- If engine passes inspection:
- Add high-viscosity oil
- Install new oil fill cap
- Replace oil filter
- Update owner’s manual
All repairs will be performed free of charge.
