The 2024 GMC Canyon receives significant upgrades over the previous model, including new exterior styling with a larger, more aggressive front grille design and restyled front and rear fascias. Three engine options are available: a 2.5L 4-cylinder, 3.6L V6, and a Duramax 2.8L turbo-diesel. Fuel economy has estimates of up to 26 MPG highway for the base 4-cylinder.
Several new technology features debut on the 2024 Canyon. These include an 8-inch touchscreen display that is now standard equipment across all trims. The system supports wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity for the first time. A new high-definition rearview camera improves visibility while backing up. Available technologies include a premium 7-speaker Bose audio system, 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot, and a multi-color heads-up display projecting key information onto the windshield. Newly standard safety features include forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane departure warning, and more.
The styling of the new 2024 Canyon emphasizes its truck capabilities. The exterior has a bold, angular design with a larger grille and horizontal LED lighting elements. Inside, the Canyon has a refined, upscale interior with soft-touch materials and accent stitching on higher trims. Trim levels include the base Canyon trim, mid-level SLE and SLT trims, and the off-road-focused AT4 trim with increased ground clearance and terrain response technologies. Customers can choose from regular, extended and crew cab configurations.
The previous generation GMC Canyon earned many awards, including 2015 North American Truck of the Year. It also received high praise from Kelley Blue Book as a Best Buy truck for providing great value. J.D. Power gave high ratings for initial quality, design, and predicted reliability.
